The morning of chemo... You should have at least one helper with you. I had 3 to 4 at each treatment.

BEFORE THEY START THE CHEMO!!!

When they start the PRE-MEDS, you are going to start your first cap.

Start drinking your first Green Tea (anti-oxidant) we want your liver to start cleaning out now.

Make sure the temperature is at least 28 degrees Celsius.

The cap needs to be kneaded by hand to flatten it out as much as possible. This will take 2 to 4 minutes.

Place the cap on your head - slightly to the front more than back.

You hold the top of the cap down firmly.

Fasten the chin strap. Tight... You can adjust it later.

Your helper will adjust the back. Left side. Right side.

Adjust the sides. Pulling them slightly upward.

Place the bands around the cap to tighten it even more.

The caps must fit snuggly. Too tight is not tight enough. You need to practice having someone put the caps on you.

Set your kitchen timer alarm clock for 20 minutes. On minute 20 the cap comes off your head.

Four minutes before the above 20 minutes ends, your helper should start kneading the 2nd cap.

I had the cap changed every 20 minutes for the first 3 caps. Ten minutes into my 4th cap, I let them start the chemo drugs. Not a minute before. They will work with you! Timing is essential.

After chemo drugs start - change the cap every 30 minutes. Same as above.

There must be only 1 - 3 seconds between the time the first cap comes off and when the 2nd cap is placed on and being fastened to your head. Practice - you can do this!!!

I kept the caps on for 3 hours after chemo ended. We put the used caps in a separate cooler with dry ice to refreeze them in case we ran short of caps.

Remember, the caps can never fit too tight. Practice till you have the tightest fit possible.
